Let There Be Peace on Earth…and let it begin with me!

IMG_5521Mrs. Miller wrapped up our 2017 summer storytimes for preschoolers with books about “Peace”.  It was a good ending to this summer’s theme, “Build a Better World”.  These books are also appropriate for September 21st — International Peace Day!

Saturday, August 5th: Last Day to Submit Reading Logs!

Child Spot 9_B

Are you sitting on a pile of reading logs? Been on vacation and forgot to turn in your beach reading time? Bring in your reading logs and grab your prizes before they’re gone.

The last day to submit reading logs (all ages, plus Summer of Numbers logs) is Saturday, August 5th. So bring them and join us that day for a come-and-go party for the whole family!

  • 11AM – 3PM: Enjoy popsicles and activities on the first floor patio.
  • 11AM – 12PM: S & D Puppetry will perform stories in the Children’s Area.
  • 1PM – 3PM: Craft project in the Storytime Room.

We’ve loved reading with you this summer!

Our tweens and teens were treated to a meet-and-greet with some animal friends, courtesy of Zooniversity. Today’s guests included: Anastasia (an European Giant Legless Lizard); Mad Eye Moody (a Tanzanian Tailless Whipscorpion/Cave Spider); Tuck (a Southern Three-Banded Armadillo); baby Matilda (a Collared Brown Lemur); and baby wallaby w/out a name (a rare albino Bennett’s Wallaby). It was wonderful to learn more about these incredible creatures!
